Letter 1: How to have a good year ✨

Life update, Tips on Happiness and a Playlist for you

Dear reader

The last time you heard from me I had just moved cities. I packed my life into a few suitcases and went to Warri to be with my family.

Today, I’m in Europe. Lithuania, to be precise.

“How has life been?”

I gotta say, it's quite awesome. I launched a YouTube channel to capture my adventure. You should check it out, you will find it interesting - I hope.

It's a fresh start to the year, and I'm feeling optimistic about 2024. I believe good things are on the horizon for both of us. If you’re aiming for a positive year, which I know you are, here are seven simple guidelines to follow:

  • Don’t Chase Flying Birds

  • You Are Allowed To Reinvent Yourself

  • People Will Come and Go

  • At The End of The Day, It’s You

  • When There’s a Will, There’s a Way

  • Joy Cometh in the Morning, But You Have to Open The Windows.

  • Life is for living.

I go on to explain these principles on my other platform, so if you’re curious;

The Scoop - What I’ve Learnt Recently:

This year, I made a significant choice to watch two YouTube videos within the first hour of waking up. By doing so, I've gained a wealth of knowledge. Are you familiar with the term "Miswanting"? If not, let me introduce you to it:

“Miswanting is the act of trying to go for certain things that we think will make us happy but don’t.”

Laurie Santos delved into the topic of why humans struggle with happiness in a YouTube Video titled “Why Humans are Surpiringly Bad at Being Happy”.

I found her explanation of the neuroscience behind dissatisfaction quite insightful. As a bonus, she shared practical steps to break free from that mental state.

What I’ve been listening to:

I pride myself to be a Youtube girly but I have to give it to Spotify for always coming through with banger playlists. This particular one has got me in my feels this week.

Wrapping it Up:

I’m currently writing exams, and I can’t help but feel stressed. (Send encouragement 🙃). Nevertheless, expect to hear from me regularly this year—every week, if all goes well. Fingers crossed, it will! I have to sign out here, but I leave you with this nugget:
